FOR ATTORNEYS
Pre-settlement funding is common and your clients will find it with or without your input. DAVID runs a competitive reverse auction that consistently produces rates 30–40% lower than legacy funders. When a client applies and names your firm, we ask you to confirm representation — that's it.

THE PROCESS
You don't initiate anything. Your clients do.
A client looking for funding visits DAVID, completes an application, and names your firm as their representation. You don't need to do anything to make this happen.
No action from youYou receive a notification to confirm you represent this client and that their case is active. This takes about 2 minutes in your portal — upload basic case documents and confirm case status.
~2 minutesAccredited investors bid in a 48-hour reverse auction. The lowest rate wins. Investors compete to fund your client — not the other way around.
48-hour auctionWhen the case settles, your client's advance plus accrued interest is repaid from the settlement proceeds through your IOLTA account. DAVID sends you the exact payoff figure.

DAVID clients pay significantly less.
LEGACY FUNDERS
DAVID
Your clients repay less, which means more of their settlement stays with them — and your fee is calculated on a larger net recovery.
ETHICAL COMPLIANCE, BY DESIGN
DAVID does not pay attorneys for client introductions. We do not offer, imply, or structure any form of compensation for attorney participation.
Every communication with a client about their case is visible to you in your portal. DAVID does not make promises, representations, or pressure clients about funding amounts.
Advances go directly to your client's personal bank account. Your IOLTA is only ever a source of repayment at settlement — it is never a destination for advance funds.
DAVID does not use attorney participation to imply endorsement or recommendation. Your firm's name appears only in the context of confirming representation.
THE CONFIRMATION PORTAL
A simple dashboard for managing your clients' cases on DAVID.
When a client names your firm, you see a confirmation request. Review the case, upload required documents, and confirm — takes about 2 minutes.
See the status of all your clients' funded cases in one place. Add case updates, track settlement progress, and get automated payoff figures when cases close.
When a case settles, report it in the portal. DAVID calculates the exact repayment amount and gives you disbursement instructions — no manual calculation needed.
THE PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
DAVID requires a one-time participation agreement before your firm can confirm client cases. The agreement covers DAVID's confirmation process, document request procedures, and IOLTA repayment obligations. It is not a referral agreement — it does not create a referral relationship, does not obligate you to promote DAVID, and does not restrict your clients from using other funding providers.
The agreement is reviewed and signed in your portal after your firm is approved.

Do I need to tell my clients about DAVID?
No. Many clients find DAVID on their own through search or word of mouth. If a client asks you about pre-settlement funding options, you can mention that DAVID tends to offer competitive rates — but there is no obligation to do so.
Does participating affect my bar obligations?
We recommend reviewing your state bar's guidance on attorney relationships with third-party litigation funders. DAVID does not pay referral fees, does not require client recommendations, and does not structure its attorney relationships to create ethics conflicts. Your participation agreement includes language reflecting this. We recommend independent review before signing.
What documents do I need to confirm a case?
A signed representation agreement, medical records documenting the injury, and basic insurance information. The portal lists exactly what's required for each case type. Optional documents (demand letters, expert reports) strengthen the case for investors but are not required to confirm.
What happens if my client's case doesn't settle?
DAVID advances are non-recourse. If the case does not result in a recovery, neither your client nor your firm owes anything. Repayment comes only from settlement proceeds.
Can my client use DAVID and another funder?
Your client may have existing funding arrangements. DAVID's lien covers the amount advanced by DAVID only. Contact DAVID if your client has a prior lien to ensure proper priority is established.
How does repayment work at settlement?
When you report a settlement in the portal, DAVID calculates the exact payoff amount — principal plus simple interest, subject to a 6-month minimum and a 2× cap. You receive wire instructions. The repayment comes from the settlement proceeds through your IOLTA before distribution to your client.
